Building the
Foundation
Paul J. Simon
It was considered to
be the greatest real
estate deal in the
world.
Actually, it
was, because it
was the
creation of the
world.
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heaven and the
earth. (AKJ)
Ever since that time, man has been given the
opportunity and
pleasure to inhabit
this great blue
sphere.
However, man,
in his conquest to
rule and govern,
took it upon himself
to divide this land
and call it his own.
God knew this
would take place.
It was all
part of His master
plan.
At the right
moment, God used
Abraham to possess
and have rightful
ownership to one
small section of
this earth he could
call his own.
This was to
be the Promised
Land.
God decided
to invoke an
unconventional
covenant between
Himself and Abraham.
Genesis 12:1-3
Now the LORD had
said to Abram, Get
you out of your
country, and from
your kindred, and
from your father's
house, to a land
that I will show
you:
And I will
make of you a great
nation, and I will
bless you, and make
your name great; and
you shall be a
blessing:
And I will
bless them that
bless you, and curse
him that curses you:
and in you shall all
families of the
earth be blessed.
(AKJ)
Genesis 12:7
And the LORD
appeared to Abram,
and said, To your
seed will I give
this land: and there
built he an altar to
the LORD, who
appeared to him.
(AKJ)
The Abrahamic
Covenant is an
unconditional
covenant.
An
unconditional or
unilateral covenant
is an agreement
between two parties,
but only one of the
two parties has to
do something.
Nothing is required
of the other party.
God made promises to
Abraham that
required nothing of
Abraham.
And, so, the
battle for control
of this small piece
of real estate
continues until this
very day.
It has been
the center, or
object, of many
fierce battles over
the centuries, and
will be the source
of the last great
battle to take place
between Satan and
the Lord in the
battle of
Armageddon. The
original boundaries
set up between
Abraham and God
during Abraham’s
time are nowhere
near the current
boundaries of this
ever-shrinking
nation.
Consider that
from
the river of Egypt
to the great river,
the river of
Euphrates, was part
of the original
boundaries.
The
river
of
Egypt,
or the Nile, was the
southern boundary of
the
land
of Canaan, and from there to the river
Euphrates,
the eastern boundary.
That would make
the land specified
by the Abrahamic
Covenant also
include the modern
nations of Saudi
Arabia, Omen, Yemen,
Turkey, Iraq, Syria,
Lebanon, Jordan,
Kuwait, UAE, and
several other
nations within the
Middle East.
That would
make Israel much
larger than it is
now, I would say!
At this
point, many people
let out a big sigh
and say,
“Yeah, yeah,
yeah…This has been
going on forever.
Why do you
even talk about it
anymore?
Let it go.”
That’s what
most people would
like to believe.
Unfortunately, this
little piece of real
estate will emerge
victorious against
enormous odds.
Why do I say
that?
Because,
that’s what the
Bible tells me, and
history has proved
it in the
past—hence, its very
existence today.
What I’ve
been telling people
over the last year
is that these are
the beginnings of
those things Jesus
had talked about in
His Olivet
Discourse.
People also
have to understand
that prophecy is not
an overnight event.
It’s a long,
well drawn out and
calculated event.
I like to
compare it to a
blueprint for
building a bridge.
As with any
plans, everything
must start with a
concept or an idea.
When drawing
out the blueprints
for any structure,
what’s the most
important part?
The
foundation.
If you don’t
have a firm and
supported
foundation, then
eventually
everything that’s
built upon it will
shift and crumble to
the ground, only to
leave the weak
foundation standing
fragile.
This has been
going on with Israel
for millennia.
God had built
the foundation for
Israel with Abraham
in Genesis, but
outside
“contractors” had to
come in and ruined a
perfect thing.
Flaws
developed in the
foundation, and
Israel suffered
through numerous
tribulations and
battles through
several Empires.
This original
foundation has since
been repaired with
the formation of the
UN-recognized State
of Israel on May 15,
1948.
This is a
significant date,
and in a sense it
starts the prophetic
clock ticking in our
generation.
Since
Abraham’s time, the
area that we know as
Israel is small
compared to what it
was back in the day.
The people
who occupy the
surrounding
countries have a
distinct hatred for
Israel and call for
her destruction on a
daily basis.
Iran
has been the biggest
proponent of
anti-Jewish
rhetoric, and has
called for “wiping
Israel
off the map” during
a United Nations
speech.
How can such
hatred be tolerated
by an international
organization?
I have been
posting news
articles on my
Facebook pages over
the months with
captions of
“Stepping Stones.”
It is
particularly
interesting to see
the correlation of
these articles as
they relate to
Scripture.
Each of these
articles signifies a
relevance to
prophecy.
It’s amazing
on how the
relationship of
Psalm 83 and today’s
news headlines
interact.
I feel that
each of these
articles represents
a building block to
be placed on the
foundation.
There are
many questionable
articles that I come
across, and after
close scrutiny for
truth and accuracy,
I will cast them
aside in the
“extras” pile if
found to have flaw,
and will not use
them in the
construction of the
bridge.
Only the
strong and reliable
“stones” will be
used in the
construction.
Psalm 83:2
For, see, your
enemies make a
tumult: and they
that hate you have
lifted up the head.
They have
taken crafty counsel
against your people,
and consulted
against your hidden
ones.
They have
said, Come, and let
us cut them off from
being a nation; that
the name of
Israel
may be no more in
remembrance.
For they have
consulted together
with one consent:
they are confederate
against you: The
tabernacles of
Edom,
and the Ishmaelites;
of
Moab,
and the Hagarenes;
Gebal, and Ammon,
and Amalek; the
Philistines with the
inhabitants of
Tyre;
Assur also is
joined with them:
they have helped the
children of
Lot.
Selah. (AKJ)
Because the
nations of Psalm 83
are referred to in
the time of its
writing, I had to
determine what the
nations listed in
the passage
translate to in
terms of today’s
geography.
Here’s what I found:
Psalm 83
Coalition
Tents of Edom =
[descendants of
Esau] Palestinian
Refugees and
Southern Jordanians
Ishmaelites =
Saudi Arabians
Moab =
Palestinian Refugees
and Central
Jordanians
Hagrites =
Egyptians
Gebal =
Northern Lebanese
Ammon =
Palestinian Refugees
and Northern
Jordanians
Amalek = Arabs
South of Israel
Philista =
Palestinian Refugees
and Hamas of Gaza
Strip
Inhabitants of
Tyre = Hezbollah and
Southern Lebanese
Assyria =
Syrians and perhaps
Northern Iraqis
included
Children of Lot
= Moab and Ammon
These have
been researched
through several
different sources
and been found to be
correct.
Again, the
naysayers continue
to elude the fact
that this has always
been going on.
Yes, these
things have always
been going on, but
never to the extent
that they are today.
Matthew 24:6
And you shall hear
of wars and rumors
of wars: see that
you be not troubled:
for all these things
must come to pass,
but the end is not
yet. (AKJ)
Many of the countries
listed in the
coalition have
already made their
alliances, although
the one country not
listed in Psalm 83
is Iran (Persia).
Iran
will be a major
player in the
closely following
conflict of
Gog-Magog.
However, Iran’s presence in the Psalm 83
conflict will be
dealt through a
proxy.
Iran has all
but taken over
Lebanon and will use
it and Hezbollah,
along with Syria, to
attack Israel’s
northern border.
And we all
know what happens to
Damascus, Syria’s
capital, through
Isaiah 17:1:
Isaiah 17:1 The burden of
Damascus.
Behold,
Damascus
is taken away from
being a city, and it
shall be a ruinous
heap.
(AKJ)
The major flow of
weapons through the
region is almost
impossible to keep
up with.
If these
countries only knew
that waging war on
Israel
would all be in
vain.
But, as Jesus
said, “All these
things must take
place…” The
“stepping stones”
for the bridge are
all but in place,
just waiting for the
ribbon-cutting
ceremony!
The
present-day circus
of the Middle East
“peace talks” is a
clear indication of
the world’s attempt
to put an end to
Israel once and for
all.
Even the
Vatican body asked
the United Nations
to “End Israeli
Occupation”
(Ynetnews.com,
Reuters published
10/23/2010):
Israel
cannot use the
Biblical concept of
a promised land or a
chosen people to
justify new
"settlements" in
Jerusalem
or territorial
claims, a Vatican
synod on the
Middle East
said on Saturday.
"We Christians cannot speak about the
promised land for
the Jewish people.
There is no longer a
chosen people. All
men and women of all
countries have
become the chosen
people.
"The concept of the promised land cannot be used as a
base for the
justification of the
return of Jews to Israel and the displacement of
Palestinians," he
added. "The
justification of Israel's occupation of the land of Palestine
cannot be based on
sacred scriptures."
“WHAT?”
This is a
fact that the
falling away has
rooted itself, and
the apostasy is in
full swing.
When a
Christian-based
entity
DENIES the
Word of God, we can
clearly see where
this is going to
end!
Matthew 24:37- 39
But as the days of
Noe were, so shall
also the coming of
the Son of man be.
For as in the days
that were before the
flood they were
eating and drinking,
marrying and giving
in marriage, until
the day that Noe
entered into the
ark, And knew not
until the flood
came, and took them
all away; so shall
also the coming of
the Son of man be.
I try to keep this
passage in mind as I
think about our
global society
today.
We are living
in a deteriorating
world, and it
continues to spiral
out of control.
To those of
us who understand
and trust the Word
of God, it’s not
such a scary ride
anymore.
We already
know how it’s going
to end.
Most people
are blind and deaf
to the Scriptures
and are only here
“for the ride.”
Unfortunately, there
are those who don’t
believe and continue
to live only to
please themselves.
Well, I wouldn’t
want to spend an
eternity in an
environment absent
of God!
If you know
what I mean… “Can I
have a glass of ice
water, please?” they
will ask, with no
reply….
The events going
on in our own
country have a
direct connection to
the things that will
take place in the
Middle East.
Of
course, I don’t
remember reading
about the
United States
in Bible prophecy,
and there’s a reason
for that.
But, that, my
friends, will have
to be another
article.
Don’t pass up your
opportunity to
welcome Jesus Christ
into your life.
His gift of
salvation and
eternal life is easy
to acquire.
Once His
church is taken away
from this world and
the ruling force of
the Holy Spirit is
taken with it, it
will be too late for
you then.
If you know
the Lord now, but
haven’t accepted Him
yet, what are you
waiting for?
Don’t miss
your opportunity.
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK………………… I know who it is!!
Blessed in Christ,
Paul J. Simon
